Soundless gong

You have hard task at hand for the week. You are supposedly buying gifts for men. And why is it a big deal, is because you are from a country-side where the fairer sex are not expected to go shopping for gifts for men folk. But then it is wedding anniversary of your parents and also father’s day is falling close on heels of that. So you do head to the market armed with grit and determination that even though everyone will the wondering at what this girl is up to and the prying eyes of everyone will be upon judging the sort of gift you are buying before they could conclude that whom you are buying it for. It is rather strange that even a father’s day gift that you buy is eyed with suspicion. People just don’t seem to get satisfied unless they spread dirty publicity about the neighbour even though they will be having a whole lot of problems in their own household. Doing away with all these fears, you plan to buy a simple card and a pen as a gift for your father. And for the anniversary, you do go for an elaborate arrangement. You unlike earlier times are going in for anniversary gift baskets. But unlike the package you get in the market, you rather choose to go for individual gifts and finally coble them up in to a basket. You have the bought your mother’s most favourite perfume, the latest bestseller for your father, a small bottle of wine, lots of goodies, scarf, smoking pipe among other such small gifts. You make sure that each one is of some use to your parents than just being a show item. And when the day come you do make them a cake all by yourself.
